What is wrongful dismissal?

In general, any employee working for an employer that operates under provincial jurisdiction in Ontario can be terminated at any time, subject to their termination being for cause, being given reasonable notice, or being given the notice provided under a legally enforceable employment agreement. If an employee is terminated without cause, without reasonable notice, or without the notice provided under an enforceable employment agreement, the termination may be considered wrongful dismissal.
